It seems to me that nothing short of vindictive self-righteousness insists the finally impenitent be consciously tormented throughout eternity for the sins of a brief human lifetime. Greek and Pagan concepts have again infiltrated Christian thinking... and God does not intend to maintain a Sin Zoo just as a reminder.
... For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away (Jas.4:14)
What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. (Nah.1:9) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev.21:4)
