Eccl.3:20  All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Eccl.9:2-3, 5-6, 10  All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.  [3] This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead...  [5] For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.  [6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun...  [10] Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Eccl.12:7  Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Acts.2:29  Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Webmaster's Commentary

It seems to me that nothing short of vindictive self-righteousness insists the finally impenitent be consciously tormented throughout eternity for the sins of a brief human lifetime. Greek and Pagan concepts have again infiltrated Christian thinking...  and God does not intend to maintain a Sin Zoo just as a reminder.

... For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away (Jas.4:14)

What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. (Nah.1:9And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev.21:4)
