Gen.2:18-25  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.  [19] And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.  [20] And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  [21] And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;  [22] And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  [23] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  [24] Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  [25] And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed...  Gen.1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth

Pss.127:3-5  Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  [4] As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.  [5] Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Eccl.4:8-12  There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.  [9] Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.  [10] For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.  [11] Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?  [12] And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Prov.7:4-27  Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:  [5] That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.  [6] For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,  [7] And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,  [8] Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,  [9] In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:  [10] And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.  [11] (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:  [12] Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)  [13] So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,  [14] I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.  [15] Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.  [16] I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.  [17] I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.  [18] Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.  [19] For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:  [20] He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.  [21] With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.  [22] He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;  [23] Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.  [24] Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.  [25] Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.  [26] For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.  [27] Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death

Prov.9:13-18  A foolish woman is clamourous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.  [14] For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,  [15] To call passengers who go right on their ways:  [16] Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,  [17] Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.  [18] But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell

Prov.12:4  A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Num.5:12-31  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,  [13] And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;  [14] And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:  [15] Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.  [16] And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:  [17] And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:  [18] And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:  [19] And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:  [20] But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:  [21] Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;  [22] And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.  [23] And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:  [24] And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.  [25] Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:  [26] And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.  [27] And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.  [28] And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.  [29] This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;  [30] Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.  [31] Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.

Deut.22:25-27  But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:  [26] But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:  [27] For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

Lev.20:11, 17, 19-21  And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them...  [17] And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity....  [19] And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.  [20] And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.  [21] And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.  [7] They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?  [8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.  [9] And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.  [10] His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.  [11] But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.  [12] For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Luke.16:18  Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

John.4:16-18  Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.  [17] The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:  [18] For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

Rom.7:2-3  For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.  [3] So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Hos.2:2, 7  Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;...  [7] And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

1Cor.6:16  What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

 

Gen.3:16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Num.30:6-8, 10-14  And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;  [7] And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.   [8] But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her...  [10] And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;  [11] And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.  [12] But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.  [13] Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.  [14] But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.

Deut.24:3-4  And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;  [4] Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Deut.25:5, 7, 11  If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her...  [7] And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother...  [11] When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:

1Cor.7:1-40  Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.  [2] Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.  [3] Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.  [4] The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.  [5] Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.  [6] But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.  [7] For I would that all men were even as I myself. 1Cor.14:33-35  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  [34] Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.  [35] And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Eph.6:1-4  Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.  [2] Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)  [3] That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.  [4] And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Human relationships were given from God to complete the emotional and physical elements of those created in His image. It is the tragedy of human experience that shame, violence and pain have soiled this divine gift through manipulation of this intended blessing in the misguided pursuit of lust, control and love-so-called... from the beginning it was not so.

And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  [21] And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;  [22] And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  [23] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  [24] Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  [25] And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. (Gen.2:20-25)

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:...  [3] Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  [4] As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.  [5] Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, (Pss.127:1, 3-5)
